The annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is an evening devoted to the spectacular and the unusual in the world of fashion. This year’s exhibit, “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between,” gave the gala attendees license to wear seriously avant-garde fashion; even so, we also saw lots of classic and vintage jewelry pieces on the red carpet. Here’s a collection of some of my favorites.
