We were just chatting here recently about our desire for more glittering galas in Monaco, and on Friday, the Grimaldis delivered.

Prince Albert II and Princess Caroline headed to the Monte-Carlo Casino for the black-tie "Lights of Gaming" Gala, and Caroline brought some interesting jewels with her.

Caroline accessorized her black sequinned gown with dramatic diamond earrings featuring pendants set with pinky-red gems.

The most dramatic jewel from Caroline's ensemble, however, was her large starfish brooch, which she pinned to the plunging neckline of her gown.

Here's a closer look at the crystal and diamond brooch.

UPDATE: Lovely reader Deb kindly passed along a link to a recent Belperron catalogue, and there's a near match for Caroline's starfish on page eleven. Looks like we've got a firm ID, and confirmation that this piece is made of diamonds, rock crystal, and gold.

It's the second major outing for the starfish this year. In March 2018, Caroline wore the starfish for the annual Rose Ball.

Here's a look at Caroline's entire ensemble for this weekend's gaming gala. She's posing here beside Jean-Luc Biamonti, the Chief Executive Officer for the Societe des Bains de Mer, which operates more than fifty properties in Monaco, including the Monte-Carlo Casino.
