The Norwegian royals released official images from their annual Christmas photoshoot this week, and there were some festive jewels on display!

King Harald V and Queen Sonja posed alongside Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, and Prince Sverre Magnus for the pictures. Princess Martha Louise and her daughters don't traditionally participate in this photoshoot (and neither does Mette-Marit's elder son, Marius, who has chosen not to have a public role), but she'll be spending Christmas with her parents in Kongseter. The crown princely family will spend the holiday together in Uvdal.

Queen Sonja usually brings out some of her most festive red jewelry pieces for these photos, and she didn't disappoint this year. Her red necklace coordinated with her button earrings, and she carried the theme further with a delightful brooch of red and silver holiday bells.

She even wore a red bangle and ring, as well as her customary stack of gold bangle bracelets.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit skipped earrings for the photos, wearing a small silver-toned brooch.

She also wore an intriguing ring on her right hand, as well as a stack of delicate chain bracelets.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra accessorized her black dress with a simple necklace with a dark pendant.

She also wore a silver bracelet with a pendant charm.

The entire Norwegian royal family seems like hoot, and this photo of the six of them looking at a gingerbread house made by the children from the Fridheim kindergarden in Oslo only confirms it. Haakon and Ingrid Alexandra are clearly interested in the architectural details, Harald, Sonja, and Mette-Marit are joking around, and Sverre Magnus, like any good teenager, is skeptical of the entire thing. Love it!
