It’s time for another royal roundup of some of the best jewels worn this week!

We’ll begin, as is our alphabetical custom of late, in Belgium. On Tuesday, Queen Mathilde wore blue and gold jewels for a visit to RevArte, a specialized rehabilitation hospital in Edegem.

On Monday, the Duchess of Brabant celebrated her 20th birthday, and the official Belgian royal website released this new photo to mark the occasion. Elisabeth is currently studying at Oxford University, where this photograph was taken in September. She kept her jewelry simple for the portrait, wearing a pair of gold chain hoop earrings.

Moving over to Denmark, Princess Benedikte headed to Athens this weekend for the wedding of her nephew and godson, Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark. She wore diamonds and pearls for the occasion, including two sections of her Floral Birthday Tiara as brooches.

Benedikte’s daughter, Princess Alexandra of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, also attended the wedding. She wore major sparkling earrings with a Danish royal heirloom, Princess Thyra’s Sapphire and Diamond Brooch.

The Greek royal family was out in force on Saturday in Athens for the wedding of Prince Philippos and his Swiss bride, Nina Flohr. The new Princess Nina borrowed the Antique Corsage Tiara from her mother-in-law for the religious ceremony at the Metropolitan Cathedral, pairing the tiara with a simple gold and pearl bangle bracelet.

Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, wife of the country’s former king, wore pearls with her diamond cross pendant for her youngest son’s wedding ceremony, plus diamond and pearl earrings.

Princess Alexia of Greece and Denmark kept her wedding guest jewelry simple, opting for understated gold pieces.

Crown Princess Marie-Chantal wore a suite of jewels made with pavé-set beads, plus a long, delicate necklace, for the wedding.

Princess Tatiana, wife of Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Denmark, wore a pair of unique fringed hoop earrings for the wedding.

Princess Theodora of Greece and Denmark wore her modern diamond and pearl drop earrings, plus a necklace, bracelets, and a pearl ring, for the ceremony in Athens.

Prince Philippos’s aunt, Princess Irene of Greece and Denmark, wore a long, sparkling necklace for the occasion.

And Marina Karella, wife of Prince Michael of Greece and Denmark, wore jewels set with diamonds, rubies, and emeralds.

In Japan, emotions ran high this week as Princess Mako of Akishino left the imperial family to marry her longtime love, Kei Komuro. For a press conference after their marriage was officially registered, she wore the Japanese imperial daytime jewelry uniform (pearl earrings, pearl necklace, brooch) one more time before preparing to move to New York.

On Tuesday, Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands wore diamond, sapphire, and silver jewels in Dordrecht for the opening of a new pedestrian bridge named after her late husband, Prince Claus.

On Thursday evening, the Norwegian royals attended Stortingsmiddagen, the annual gala dinner for members of parliament, in Oslo. Queen Sonja dripped in diamonds, including Queen Josefina’s Diamond Tiara, for the occasion.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore the tiara and jewels from the Norwegian Amethyst Parure for the dinner.

And Princess Astrid also sparkled for the gala dinner, wearing the Vasa Tiara.

The Spanish royals were busy this week with the annual Princess of Asturias awards celebrations. For a reception at the Hotel Reconquista in Oviedo on Friday, Queen Letizia wore her Double Dagger Earrings from Gold & Roses, plus her usual Karen Hallam ring.

For the awards ceremony on Friday evening, Queen Letizia piled on heirloom royal diamonds: Queen Ena’s Diamond Earrings and Diamond Bracelets.

During a visit to Santa Maria del Puerto de Somiedo, the town that won the award for Best Asturian Village of the Year, Queen Letizia wore her gold bamboo hoops.

On Tuesday, Queen Letizia wore a pair of dramatic long black diamond earrings from Tous at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz Hotel in Madrid, where she attended a journalism awards ceremony.

The gold bamboo hoops had another outing this week as well. Queen Letizia wore them in Tui on Thursday, for a visit to the winner of the Girona Foundation’s Best School 2020 Award.

Queen Sofia of Spain was also on hand for the Princess of Asturias Awards on Friday evening, wearing multicolored pearls, stacked bracelets, and a gold brooch with pearl pendants.

The next day, Queen Sofia traveled to her native Greece to attend the wedding of her nephew, Prince Philippos, in Athens. For the ceremony, she wore pearls with Queen Friederike’s Ruby Pendant.

Sofia was accompanied at the wedding by her daughter, Infanta Elena, who wore a pavé-set diamond necklace and coordinating bracelet.

Back in Spain, the Princess of Asturias wore gold hoop earrings for Friday afternoon’s reception for the winners of the prize that bears her title.

Leonor also wore gold hoop earrings for the awards ceremony on Friday evening, during which she delivered an impressive speech.

Leonor wore petite diamond stud earrings for the visit to Santa Maria del Puerto de Somiedo on Saturday.

For Friday night’s Princess of Asturias Awards, Infanta Sofia of Spain wore a ballet-inspired look with a silver and black bracelet.

After a canceled trip and a night in the hospital, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom was back to doing virtual audiences at Windsor Castle this week. She wore her usual pearl earrings and three-stranded pearl necklace for a meeting with the Ambassador from the Republic of Korea on Tuesday.

On Thursday, the Queen wore one of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Bow Brooches with two strands of pearls to (virtually) present the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry to David Constantine.

The Queen also made an appearance via portrait this week! A painting of her wearing the Dorset Bow Brooch with a spray of poppies, painted by Darren Baker to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Royal British Legion, was on display at Clarence House on Tuesday as the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall attended the official launch of the centenary poppy appeal.

During Tuesday’s centenary poppy appeal launch, the Duchess of Cornwall wore a Buckley London poppy brooch with her favorite pearl earrings.

On Wednesday, Camilla wore gold jewels, including a pair of statement earrings, as she attended the launch of a new project co-sponsored by the Women of the World Foundation and Birkbeck, University of London, which the BBC notes is “aimed at changing attitudes to sexual violence.”

For Thursday’s reception for winners of The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition at St. James’s Palace, Camilla wore earrings with black pearl drops, her Golden Kiwi and Kiki McDonough Apollo Necklaces, and a small, intriguing brooch with a cupid’s arrow design.
