Kate’s Modern Emerald Necklace vs. Camilla’s Emerald Necklace

Kate’s Modern Emerald Necklace
In December 2014, the Duchess of Cambridge debuted a dazzling suite of modern jewels set with emeralds and diamonds. The set, which does not yet have a known provenance, includes several pieces: a statement necklace, a pair of earrings, and a coordinating bracelet. The jewels are set with white diamonds, yellow diamonds, and square-cut emeralds, which are set within a floral border of diamonds. Kate wore the necklace in public for the first time at the BAFTAs in February 2018, along with a shorter setting of the coordinating earrings.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall made a visit to Saudi Arabia in March 2006, and the following year, their official gift disclosure report revealed that Camilla had been given “three necklaces (parures) emerald, ruby, and sapphire” by the Saudi royal family during the trip. Camilla debuted this modern necklace (believed to be the emerald gift) in June 2009, along with its coordinating earrings and bracelet. The bold, streamlined necklace features a series of square-cut emerald and diamond clusters.
