Both of these gorgeous blue gemstones reside in modern diamond settings!

Camilla’s Sapphire Necklace vs. The Wessex Aquamarine Necklace

The Duchess of Cornwall owns multiple sapphire necklaces, but one of the most intriguing is this diamond and sapphire stunner. The necklace features spaced diamond brilliants, plus a large, dark blue sapphire pendant in a modern diamond floral setting. The geometric design of the floral petals looks to me like it might be inspired by Indian design motifs. The sheer size of the sapphire makes it one of the largest gems in Camilla’s collection. She showcased the necklace by wearing a gown with a dramatic neckline for the Royal Variety Performance back in 2013.

The Wessex Aquamarine Necklace
The Countess of Wessex debuted this dazzling diamond and aquamarine jewel in November 2005 during the enthronement festivities for Prince Albert II of Monaco. The versatile modern piece can be worn as either a tiara or a necklace, and its green-blue aquamarine coordinates beautifully with several other jewels from Sophie’s collection. As a necklace, the sharp scrolling diamond designs of the piece are especially eye-catching, and the deep sea-green color of the aquamarine stands out dramatically.
