On Wednesday, King Felipe and Queen Letizia hosted the President and First Lady of Germany for a luncheon at the Royal Palace in Madrid, an appropriate function to debut one of the quieter, but still stunning, pieces from the joyas collection.

For the dinner, Letizia wore the grand pearl necklace from the joyas de pasar, pairing it with pearl stud earrings. In her will, Queen Ena designated the pearl necklace and the rest of the joyas as pieces that should pass from monarch to monarch, to be worn by Spain's queens consort and regnant. The necklace, made of 37 large pearls, was a gift from King Alfonso XIII to Queen Ena. It includes a distinctive diamond clasp, which Letizia highlighted by wearing it on the right side of the neckline of her dress.

It's quite rare to see Letizia wear a necklace, so it was extra exciting to see this one come out of the vaults!
