We're all in state visit mode right now, but next week brings another series of big royal events: the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Poland and Germany. (George and Charlotte are coming along, but they don't have any public engagements scheduled.) Here's an overview of the events of the tour.

The tour begins when the family arrives in Warsaw, where they'll be greeted by President Duda and shown around the Presidential Palace. Other daytime engagements include a tour of a business incubator and a visit to a museum dedicated to the Warsaw Rising of 1944. In the evening, they'll attend a birthday party for the Queen hosted by the British ambassador to Poland.

In the afternoon, the couple will visit the Brandenburg Gate and tour the city's Holocaust Museum. After visiting a charity that supports young people, they'll meet with President Steinmeier at Bellevue Palace. The evening event for the day is another birthday party for the Queen, this time hosted by the British ambassador to Germany.

Much of the day will be spent in Heidelberg, which is a sister city of Cambridge. They'll visit a cancer research center, see the ruins of Heidelburg Castle, meet the city's mayor, and take part in a rowing competition on the River Neckar. The evening event for Thursday is a creative industries reception.
