10. On Wednesday, Princess Sofia of Sweden wore her small diamond-encrusted hoop earrings for a merit ceremony at Sophiahemmet College in Stockholm.

9. Queen Mathilde of the Belgians wore a pair of colorful statement earrings during a lunch for the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels on Tuesday.

8. For Thursday's garden party at Buckingham Palace, Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy wore a three-stranded pearl necklace, pearl cluster earrings, and her six-petaled diamond flower brooch.


7. The newly-engaged Princess Mako of Akishino remained in the spotlight this week as she embarked on an official visit to Bhutan. For Thursday's official welcome in Paro, Mako wore pearl earrings, a single-stranded pearl necklace, and a small leaf brooch set with a pearl.


6. Queen Maxima of the Netherlands visited Vietnam this week on behalf of the United Nations; for a meeting with the Vietnamese President in Hanoi on Wednesday, she wore her tanzanite earrings with a stack of bracelets. (Close-ups and more jewels from the trip over here!)

5. The Danish crown princely couple made a trip to Sweden this week, where they were hosted by their Swedish counterparts. For a visit to Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen in Stockholm on Monday, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark wore a diamond and gold floral brooch from the firm, pairing it with diamond cluster stud earrings.

3. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden chose a pair of crystal statement earrings from Caroline Svedbom for Monday's official dinner at Eric Ericssonhallen.

2. For Thursday's garden party at Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wore a large diamond and aquamarine brooch that belonged to her late mother.


1. My collective top vote goes to -- you guessed it -- the Scandinavian queens, who busted out the gala jewels in Helsinki on Thursday. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark wore the Baden Palmette Tiara; Queen Silvia of Sweden wore the Baden Fringe Tiara; and Queen Sonja of Norway wore the replica of Queen Maud's Pearl Tiara.
