Nature-Inspired Jewelry for Maxima on Sustainable Visit

On Tuesday, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands made a working visit to Koppert Cress, the 2016 winner of the King William I Plaque for Sustainable Entrepreneurship. Her biggest piece of jewelry, appropriately, was inspired by a very specific part of the natural world.

But first, the stuff we've seen on a more regular basis. She wore her dramatic, dark pendant earrings.

On her right wrist, she wore both her cabochon gemstone family bracelet and her diamond family initial bracelet.

She also wore her engagement ring, which features an orange center stone.

And now, for the most interesting jewel of the day: the giant insect brooch that Maxima wore pinned to the right side of her dress. It's -- well, it's another addition to her collection of bug brooches, and that's just about all I've got to say about it.
