The Top Ten: Oscar Jewels 2015

Hollywood's royalty took center stage last night at the 87th annual Academy Awards, and they brought some major sparkle to the party. Enjoy my picks for the top ten Oscar jewels of 2015 -- including one piece that has a royal connection!

10. Kerry Washington's Earrings

The Scandal star wore Fred Leighton's Pink Ombre Sapphire and Diamond Earrings.

9. Behati Prinsloo's Necklace

Pictured above with husband Adam Levine, the model donned an unusual necklace of dark, sparkling beads, made by a Swiss jeweler, de Grisogono.

8. Viola Davis's Pearls

Two-time Oscar nominee Davis wore a fun twist on the traditional fringe necklace, this time made of strands of pearls by Van Cleef and Arpels.

7. Naomi Watts's Earrings

Also a two-time nominee, Watts sported a stunning pair of diamond and sapphire earrings.

6. Zoe Saldana's Necklace

The actress wore Neil Lane's modern take on the classic diamond fringe necklace.

5. Gwyneth Paltrow's Earrings

They look downright painful, but the Oscar winner's golden earrings with scarlet-colored stones are intricate and gorgeous.

4. Cate Blanchett's Necklace

There are statement necklaces, and then there are giant Tiffany turquoise statement necklaces worn by an actress who already has two Academy Awards of her own.

3. Scarlett Johansen's Necklace and Ear Cuff

Actress Johansen continued the statement necklace trend with a major beaded neckpiece; she also ticked another trend box with an ear cuff by Piaget.

2. Margot Robbie's Necklace

For the vintage jewelry lovers among us, Robbie's necklace -- a Van Cleef and Arpels Zip Necklace -- was a true highlight of the evening. Robbie stated on the red carpet that the necklace was made for the Duchess of Windsor; however, Sotheby's noted that although the very first Zip Necklace was indeed made for Wallis Simpson (and at her suggestion), the one worn by Robbie is not the same one worn by the duchess.

1. Lupita Nyong'o's Gown and Jewels

Last year's supporting actress Oscar winner stunned the fashion press when she arrived for this year's ceremony wearing a custom Calvin Klein gown made of six thousand pearls. Even better, she topped off the entire ensemble with gorgeous Chopard diamonds. Amazing!
